Hi, all. Wanted to share the following..
Spring 2006 X Culture Magazine is up.
Sally Bishai’s 30 Minutes With… Keith Beauchamp is online.
Wait, I’ve said this before, and more concisely. Here, I’ll try again…
“My dear friends.. Hi! I hope that this note finds you well.
I have several things to share with you, so here we go..
1- BOTH documentaries–
“Back to Square One? Fifty Years After Emmett Till” and “Children of Kemet: The COPTS, Culture, and Democracy of Egypt” are out on DVD. Check X Culture Magazine or the blog for more information on how to get a copy. (The shows are also available to watch online at Channel X.)
2- The Spring Edition of X Culture Magazine (www.xculturemag.com ) is
online, and the print edition is not far behind it. Some things you may
be interested in checking out include:
**Photography–this edition has many shots of the VA-National Medical
Musical Group’s Valentine’s Day Concert (including Ed McMahon, Cokie
Roberts, all sorts of politicians, and half of the brass from the Armed
Forces), the Second International Coptic Conference (no explanation
needed!), and a film director.
**The DVDs (Emmett and Kemet).
**My televised interview with Keith Beauchamp, director of “The Untold
Story of Emmett Louis Till.”
3- Speaking of Keith Beauchamp, visit Channel X
(xculturefilms.blogspot.com ) for “Sally Bishai’s 30 Minutes With..
Keith Beauchamp,” as well as episodes of the program featuring my dear
and beloved friends Nadia Ghaly, Hugh Stephen Whitaker, Michael Meunier,
Bishop Youssef (Southern USA Diocese), and others.
4- The Spring Edition of PHOTO X Quarterly is only going to be on sale
for one more month; This edition featured the Coptic Conference, and has 18 pages in full colour. It is under the “Print Publications” link on X Culture.
5- I need your help! Please send or forward this mail to any friends or
colleagues of yours who might be interested in Coptic rights, Human or
Civil rights, etc… As you know, X Culture has almost no advertising
budget, and so the talents of many young writers and artists (and
activists, really) might remain unnoticed until the year 3000.
God’s blessings and love to all,
sally”
Right. Now that I’m more tired than I can say–It is, after all, 5.56 am–I should go have a nap. May God be with each of you..
